Taryn Hancock

Since becoming a mother, myself, I felt a calling to assist other women through this vulnerable transformative journey. Whether you are someone who has experienced prior therapeutic care or this is the first time on your journey to transitioning into motherhood, I am here to offer a warm and judgement free environment for my clients to heal in.

I have experience in working with Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders at the IOP/PHP level of care. I continue to specialize in anxiety disorders and OCD and utilize multiple methods of treatment. My scope of practices includes Exposure Response and Prevention Therapy which is the gold standard of treatment for Anxiety and OCD. I also use other modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I use these evidence-based practices to build a therapeutic treatment plan while providing empathetic, positive regard and authentic care as a clinician.

I received both my Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Social Work from Aurora University. I received my undergraduate training in a memory care facility and my graduate clinical training at a behavioral health hospital. I have completed advanced training in psychotherapy for perinatal mood disorders through postpartum international support. I continue to work in partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs in addition to outpatient therapy services.
